Virtual International Dot Day Celebrations in a Bitmoji Classroom

The faculty of University of Central Florida’s School of Teacher Education came up with a creative way to celebrate International Dot Day virtually for 2020.

Using creativity and innovation, educators created an interactive Bitmoji classroom

Marni Kay, a Reading Education Instructor, explains the motivation behind this unique celebration.

“Due to our current remote teaching mode... we have had to rethink how to share this special celebration of literacy with our students! We have been able to collaborate and include 12 content area stations for our students to learn with/from.“

In the spirit of collaboration, Marni also created a video guide with instructions on how the Bitmoji classroom could be used in any classroom (virtual or otherwise). She and the rest of the staff at UCF School of Teacher Education are hoping this resource can help other educators learn new technology tools, get access to remote teaching strategies and explore collaboration in virtual spaces.

Try it in your school: video tutorial and Google Slides Classroom document
