The Reynolds Center TLC is pleased to introduce the use of Dassault Systèmes’ SOLIDWORKS® Apps for Kids as a perfect complement to our FabMaker Studio engineering design & fabrication toolset.  Where FabMaker Studio is perfect for quick, paper-based prototyping on affordable craft cutters, SOLIDWORKS® Apps for Kids offers a robust 3D modeling experience that works well with more sophisticated 3D printers. And, good news - it’s is available for free.

The team at Dassault Systèmes’ has created an ecosystem of apps that breaks down the design and engineering process into bite-sized pieces for creating, designing, and printing student’s design projects. 

Both SOLIDWORKS® Apps for Kids and FabMaker Studio programs help students learn the engineering design process as they imagine, design, print, test and iterate a wide array of projects.  

Thanks to support from La Fondation Dassault Systèmes, RC-TLC has been able to expand partnerships with Boston Public Schools, the YMCA, and other schools looking to “push the limits of knowledge as well as to inspire young people with a passion for engineering, science and digital technology to create a better and more collaborative society.”
