TLC Studios is excited to welcome Jonathan Todd, author/illustrator of TIMID and 2024 New England Book Award winner, for a six-week course all about comics and cartoons.

These hands-on sessions are centered around building creative skills and channeling inspiration. Whether you’re an avid graphic novel lover ready to create your own story or an artist excited to try something new, one or more of these sessions will be right for you.

The classes are designed for students ages 7-17, but educators are also invited to participate as a way to explore comics-making in the classroom. You are invited to join one or all six weeks.

Week 1: Cartoon Drawing and Inking – In this workshop we cover the basics on how to draw cartoon figures doing almost anything and get practice using a brush, ink and felt-tip pens to create finished comic art.  

When: Tuesday, Nov. 19, 3:30-5 p.m.

Audience: Ages 7-17, and Educators
