TLC Studios is excited to welcome Jonathan Todd, author/illustrator of TIMID and 2024 New England Book Award winner, for a six-week course all about comics and cartoons.

These hands-on sessions are centered around building creative skills and channeling inspiration. Whether you’re an avid graphic novel lover ready to create your own story or an artist excited to try something new, one or more of these sessions will be right for you.

The classes are designed for students ages 7-17, but educators are also invited to participate as a way to explore comics-making in the classroom. You are invited to join one or all six weeks.

Week 2: Writing and Drawing Comic Strips and Gag Cartoons: Before there were graphic novels, there were comic strips and one-panel magazine cartoons. In this workshop, students will get practice writing and drawing one-, two- three- and four-panel cartoons that will make their reader laugh, think or observe something interesting.

When: Tuesday, Nov. 26, 3:30 - 5 p.m.

Audience: Ages 7-17 and Educators
