Peter H. Reynolds Invited to Help Celebrate Horn Book Magazine's 100th Anniversary!
The Horn Book Magazine is one of the most distinguished resources in the field of children’s and young adult literature. So we were honored and delighted when they asked FableVision/ReynoldsTLC’s founder Peter H. Reynolds to contribute his creativity to their special, 100th Anniversary Commemorative Edition!
This issue is chock-full of heartwarming accolades and reminiscences from longtime book-creator friends and colleagues of this revered publication.
Just a mile away from where Bertha Mahony Miller launched the Bookshop for Boys and Girls and The Horn Book nearly one hundred years ago (under the sponsorship of Boston's Women’s Educational and Industrial Union,) is Peter’s own digital storytelling company, FableVision Studios.
How perfectly perfect.
When we started the Reynolds Center’s sister organization FableVision in 1996, we whimsically proclaimed we were on a "200-year mission to create and share positive storytelling, media and technology to move the world to a better place.”
And just as Bertha did, we sell highly curated books for children and youth by amazing authors and illustrators, in our family’s independent bookshop, The Blue Bunny, in Dedham MA, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2023.
Dedham is also where, as serendipity would have it, The Horn Book’s Editor-in-Chief Roger Sutton grew up, and returned to interview Peter in 2017. What a joyful "dot connecting" experience that was - sharing time with his fellow bibliophile, surrounded by walls of books and other book lovers.
With The Horn Book reaching its centennial milestone, we continue to be inspired to carry on our shared mission to support the best in children’s literature and bring meaningful books, stories and media into young hands.
