FETC Workshop: Make to Learn: An Easy, Affordable Onramp to STEAM

  • Orange County Convention Center 9800 International Dr Orlando, FL 32819 USA (map)

Join the Paul Reynolds and Peggy Stearns for a FabMaker Workshop at FECT 2019! During their workshop: Make to Learn: An Easy, Affordable Onramp to STEAM, on Monday, Jan. 28, discover how schools nationwide are using easy, affordable tools to engage young learners in STEM/STEAM and the engineering design process. While buzz swirls around 3D printing, many educators are embracing a low-cost alternative — paper and cardstock, inexpensive digital cutters, and easy CAD software — to introduce teachers and students to digital design and making. Learn how K-8 students engineer unique projects from simple to sophisticated, including pop-ups, 3D objects, working machines, and electronics. Get inspiration from schools, libraries, and community centers around the country. Leave with ideas for curriculum integration.
