For over a decade, World Read Aloud Day has celebrated the power of reading aloud to create community, amplify new stories, and advocate for literacy as a foundational human right.
The global effort, created by the non-profit LitWorld and sponsored by Scholastic, is celebrated annually in over 173 countries and is all about bringing people together through the shared connection of reading aloud in all of our communities.
This event is part of our ongoing collaborations with our partners at the nonprofit Boch Center, which offers performing arts, entertainment and cultural educational experiences for diverse audiences. As part of that mission, the Boch Center oversees the iconic Wang and Shubert Theatres - both of which have been anchored in Boston’s historic Theater District for 100 years.
