Join us for an engaging session that will equip you with tools to empower students to think critically, embrace challenges, and develop a mindset for lifelong learning!
In today’s ever-evolving educational landscape, fostering a growth mindset and strengthening critical thinking skills are essential for student success. Join local educator Steven Cerce for an interactive workshop which explores how the 8 Standards for Mathematical Practice provide a structured framework to support diverse learners across all subject areas.
Participants will engage in hands-on activities and discussions that bridge the gap between mathematical reasoning and real-world problem-solving strategies. For example, the standard "Make Sense of Problems and Persevere in Solving Them" will be connected to the computer engineering practice of “talk to the duck”, illustrating how problem-solving techniques transcend disciplines.
This session is not just for math teachers—educators from all backgrounds will gain valuable insights into applying these practices in their classrooms to nurture resilient, adaptable thinkers.
Massachusetts educators will receive a certificate for 2 hours of PDP after attending the workshop.
When: Monday, June 9, 4:30-6:30
Audience: Elementary Educators, Middle/High Educators
TLC Studios is located at 390 Washington Street in Dedham, Ma. There is easy, free parking at Keystone Lot (10 Eastern Ave.).
